Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in September:

1. Heading to the top of the world….or rather At the Top on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building (I’ll never get tired of saying that!) to celebrate a successful first week of school for the boys! It was so special!

3. A slight drop in temperatures. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still absolutely sweltering out here in Dubai, but there is hope of winter on the horizon. Of fresh breeze, outdoor walks, cooler temperatures and perhaps even the chance to wear a jacket or two! May be even a few droplets of rain…okay that might be stretching it too far! ha!
4. Jalebi. Enough said.
5. Breakfast date with Mr Z whilst both boys are in school. We do of course sometimes end up talking about the kiddos, but at least it is uninterrupted conversation!
6. Being invited to check out the Lego concept store in Mall of the Emirates. My kids were in Lego heaven! Also, so proud of Master Z making Lego sets all on his own, the boy is obsessed with Lego at the moment.
7. My MIL coming from India to spend a month with us, and bringing with her fresh produce like guavas, chikoo and plenty of Indian snacks!
8. That feeling of relief on Thursday afternoon when you know you managed to get through another week of school emails, dress up days, homework, assignments and more….to have a brief break before you have to do it all over again the next week!

10. The countdown to Expo2020! Dubai is alive with buzz and excitement, and I personally can’t wait to go and admire the beautiful architecture of the country pavilions as well as exploring what’s inside them!
