Things I said Alhumdulillah for in October…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in October:
- Finally getting our photos printed for the last two holidays abroad. Flicking through a photo album will always be the best way to relive memories.
- The start of winter breeze and cooler temperatures, hooray! Almost Sweater Weather! 😛
- Finally getting the Ka’bah door replica fabric piece framed and hung in our home that we bought from a local store during our recent Umrah trip in Makkah.
- Recovering from the obligatory cold and flu as a family due to the weather change. Nothing beats the warmth of a Chicken Pepper soup!
- My husband making the application for a life changing decision. I can’t quite share exactly what yet, but In sha Allah hoping it all works out.
- Scooter rides around the neighbourhood with my boys.
- Working with environment-conscious and non toxic brands such as Kyma, for which I filmed my weekly Cleaning Reset. Watch it here.
- Buying myself the next yearly calendar. I know it’s only October, but I have dates already that I need to jot down for next year and it’s the only way i can keep organised!
- Attending English and Science Activity days at the boys’ school and watching the kiddos show us what they learnt and trying out new activities together. How nice is it to be able to be part of school activities again after the long covid break?
- Half term holidays, even though it was quite short, but I sure did enjoy the lie ins!
- Taking the boys to OliOli to celebrate their 5th birthday with so many fun games and play areas. We spent 3 hours there, and the boys had such a fun time.
- Attending the virtual Parent Teacher Meetings for both kids, and hearing all the positive things they had to say about them. It make me feel confident that we are doing a good job raising them so far, because regardless of academics, I want them to be good humans first and foremost. Alhumdulillah.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in October last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
