Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March:
- Exploring the Expo 2020 pavillions for the last few times before month end. It’s been so amazing having this at our door step and for the kids to be able to experience the best that Dubai has to offer as well as get a taste of other cultures from around the globe.
- Watching the birds visit our balcony to eat the seeds we have kept out for them. Watching nature is always so humbling, don’t you think?
- Witnessing another Union Fortress show, where the UAE showcases what their armed forces are capable of, including stunts from the military vehicles and personnel. It’s truly an eye-opener and the boys were watching the show mouth-agape the entire time.
- Trying my best to eat more healthy and I now find myself reaching our for grapes and oranges rather than chocolate bars. What has actually happened to me?!
- Visiting Global Village and I may have ended up shopping for my Eid outfits as well as enjoying some scrumptious food!
- Cheering on the boys at their individual Sport’s Days at school. It was nice to see some degree of normality post covid.
- Receiving glowing teacher reports and positive feedback during the parent-teacher meetings for both boys, including several certificates of appreciation. At this stage, I am always more interested in how they are shaping up to be as people rather than their academics so it’s nice to hear that Master Z is thriving and Little Z is also coming out of his shy shell.
- Getting Ramadan Prep going in full swing. From checking my inventory of existing Ramadan decor, to preparing a couple of ramadan dishes to freeze, packing Eid gifts (Yes, I like to get that out of the way before Ramadan even starts) and over all reflecting on what my goals are for the coming holy month. I also created this little funny reel to mark the occasion of Ramadan Prep, hehe.
- Lie in during the Spring Break. Bliss!
- Alhumdulillah for an open line of communication between my husband and I. I do believe it’s one of the most important skills you need within any marriage.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in March last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
