Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July:
- The start of summer holidays 2021! We may not be travelling this summer, but the longer lie-ins and a break from distance learning is very much welcome!
- Having the boys enjoy the Dig It Summer Camp. It was the first time leaving Master Z in a “school” like setting for so many hours, but since he had his big brother with him, they both thoroughly enjoyed it. Here’s a snippet into their time at Dig It.
- Lunch date with the Mr. whilst the kids were in summer camp. Of course, we did end up mainly discussing the kids, but at least we weren’t being interrupted every 5 seconds!
- Seeing my cousin brother get married back in the UK, even though we would have rather been there in person than watch photos and videos on whatsapp. It was lovely to see the family come together for the happy occasion all the same.
- Completing 3 years as a business owner of Mummy On My Mind Store. It is my absolute passion and every time I hear positive feedback about my doodle art from clients, it makes me so very happy!
- Celebrating my nephew’s second birthday! It was a lovely train themed at home party followed by a delicious dinner.
- Making Lamingtons and Eid biscuits with my boys. Here’s my recipe for Lamingtons if you fancy making them too…they’ve become somewhat of an Eid tradition at our home.
- Fasting on Arafat Day. May All grant us all with the blessing to make Hajj in the near future In sha Allah.
- A 5 day Eid holiday spent with family. Click here for the Eid week photo dump, including a shopping spree, Metro ride and admiring sea life.
- Stroking the hair of a newborn. Cuteness overload!
- When you find modest dresses with a lovely pattern, long sleeves, long length AND it’s within budget! The excitement is real!
- Screen time, for when I need some peace and quiet from the kids!
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in July last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
