Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in December:
- Enjoying my first work Christmas dinner with colleagues with a delicious 3 course meal.
- The boys getting to experience their first snow in the UK. Although they have both experienced snow on our holiday to Georgia, they were too young to remember, and since the boys have been wishing for snowfall since moving to UK, it was lovely watching them have snow fight balls as their wish came true.
- Hot chocolate season, yaaaay!
- Cousins dinner at Jimmys! Always so fun catching up with the girls, and I am so happy I get to live these family moments now that I am not seven seas away!
- Watching Master Z perform for his Year 5 Music Concert, including some lovely violin playing! Proud parent moment!
- Celebrating Mr Z’s birthday with the family at Etci Baba, a delicious Turkish restaurant.
- Getting some disappointing news after a lot of back and forth but knowing that God has something better planned for us, so keeping faith and starting again In sha Allah.
- Starting off our Winter holidays with a staycation in Manchester, and discovering Curry mile! We also made a day trip to Liverpool and loved being by the sea.
- Visiting Sealife in Trafford Centre, Manchester, with the boys who were in awe of the giant lobster and jelly fishes.
- Driving back home through “Snake Pass”, a notriously windy road with absolutely stunning scenery.
- A day trip to London, exploring the National History Museum with the boys and getting to experience all the christmas lights and decorations.
- Plans to counting down to New Year’s with a family dinner and watching the London fireworks on TV at midnight.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in December last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
