Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July 2017…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July:
- On the 10th of this month, my grand father (Dad’s side) passed away in India. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajiun. I did not post about it anywhere because I wasn’t quite ready to divulge my personal feelings, but I could not have spoken about this month without addressing this huge loss first. My grand father was the most humblest of men, and I am SO thankful for him to have been in my life, and better still for him to see his great grand son, Master Z, and have the opportunity to play with him. I have the fondest of memories with him, and in no doubt that he is waiting in the heavens above with his soul mate, my grandmother, as well as their eldest son. I am thankful that he is now at peace, and reunited with his most beloved.
- Alhumdulillah for the gift of life.
- Seeing an old friend on the path to achieving her happily ever after, and coming through the other side of a horrendous storm, still smiling.
- A lovely staycation at Manzil Downtown Dubai, where it was all about relaxing. Catch the vlog on Youtube here.
- Having my baby brother, Mr A, arrive from UK for a month of family fun. He is the best uncle to Master Z and Baby A (my niece), and it’s been great watching the bond between them grow each day.
- A graduation in the family. Woohoo! And a First Class one at that!
- Winning at the *Pinch Punch Yellow Car/Burj Khalifa* Game. Even if it is for one day. This Instagram post explains more.
- Exploring Dubai as tourists including Dhow Cruise, Brunches, Shawarmas, Malls and the World’s Largest Indoor Theme Park : IMG Worlds of Adventure. (Read about our experience at IMG here.)
- A Family reunion surprise, bringing together the Sanjania clan of Dubai, England and South Africa, at our home, followed by a day of sightseeing and feeding ourselves silly, whilst trying to take photos from the ground to try to fit the entire Burj Khalifa in the background. Standard.
- For once, not over packing my luggage! Although, I can’t say the same for when I have to pack for my return flight to Dubai from England.
- Being back with my parents in my UK home. As you read this, I will already have flown 7 hours with my toddler and baby brother to my home town in England, and spent an entire day meeting my ever growing family.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in July last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
