Things I said Alhumdulillah for in October 2019…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in October:
- Alhumdulillah for being able to see un-aided! Yes, my LASIK surgery was a success and I am so happy that I went through with it. To know all about my Laser eye surgery experience, and answers to any FAQs, refer to see this detailed blog post here.
- Being surrounded by books at the Big Bad Wolf sale. I really hope my love of books translates to both my boys!
- Attending Master Z’s first Parent Teacher Meeting at his new school, and hearing how well he is doing. Super Proud Mummy moment!
- Having a month with so many school holidays, so getting a little bit of a lie in, more than usual and getting to spend more time with Master Z.
- Hearing Little Z learn new words every day and laughing till our bellies hurt when hearing some of them…
- Baking pretzels from scratch for the first time, and actually succeeding! Trust me, I’m more shocked about this than you are…
- Feeling reconnected to my faith as I read “A Temporary Gift” by Asmaa Hussein. I am yet to finish it, but it has already been a source of so much inspiration for me.
- Being nominated for the “Best Mum Advisor” category by Qidz UAE. I am truly humbled and feeling the love from all those that supported me with their votes. Thank you.
- Listening to Master Z as he learns to read. What a beautiful milestone to reach, as frustrating it sometimes because it is a very slow process as he gets to grips with it.
- Feeling the beginnings of the winter breeze in the early mornings. Aaaah, finally!
- Applying henna on my nails, after what feels like AGES!
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in October last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
