Things I said Alhumdulillah for in May 2018…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in May:
- A lovely two night staycation at Cove Rotana Resort, where we stayed in a villa with it’s own swimming pool. It was Master Z’s ultimate heaven. We had such a great relaxing time, and a chance to bond as a family of four, whilst Master Z showed off his swimming skills.
- Celebrating Master Z’s fourth birthday! There was plenty of Paw Patrol themed decorand gifts, followed by a delicious family lunch at Palace Downtown Dubai, and returning back home to play with all his new toys. I think it’s safe to say that he was one happy bunny.
- Little Z reaching his milestones. He is now trying to grab things with his hands, and expressing himself very loudly with shrieks.
- Having Master Z complete his 10 lessons of swimming, and seeing him swim independently. Proud Mama Moment! We will have to follow it up with plenty of practice and more lessons in the future to make him even better.
- The start of Ramadan 2018. Although, I am not fasting this year as I am breastfeeding Little Z, I still hope to be on a spiritual journey to improve myself, as difficult as it may be when you are a mother of a toddler as well as a 4 month old! I also created some FREE Ramadan Printables which you can have a look at here, and directly download from the Pretty Paper Studio website here.
- Getting through Little Z’s 4 month vaccination with just one day of slight fever. The day after he was back to his cheery self. Yay!
- Getting a 5 minute back massage. Sometimes that’s all it takes to turn a worn out Mama’s day around 360 degrees!
- Having my baby brother tell me he passed one of his first year university modules (with like a First Class…pfft!) He has officially finished his first year of Aerospace Engineering Degree…three more years to go before he graduates! It feels like only yesterday that he was packing his things out of our home in UK to venture into Uni Life!
- Shorter working hours for the husband due to Ramadan! I will cheers my Rooh Afza to THAT!
- For a very blessed lifestyle, where we hop from home to work in our air conditioned cars, complaining of headaches and sweating, whereas the labourers work out in the burning heat. May the summer period be easy on them, and Allah grant them ease, good health and patience.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in May last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
