Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in March:
- Finally announced to my social media family that we are leaving Dubai permanently and relocating to the UK. The duas and wishes that I received upon sharing the news have been so heart warming.
- Having the majority of our belongings packed and cargo-ed to the UK. The shipment will take a couple of weeks to arrive in the UK, and I’m just praying it is all returned back to us smoothly and in the same condition.
- An amazing little farewell photoshoot with @kidscamerista in the desert which was so much fun, and I’m so happy with the gorgeous photos that we will treasure forever.
- Managing to sell furniture items on Facebook marketplace and Dubizzle with minimum hiccups.
- Meeting up with my friends to say our farewells, who have all made this expat journey in Dubai a better experience.
- The final parent teacher meetings with my kid’s teachers, all of which have been positive Alhumdulillah, with great report cards too. The kids said their goodbyes to their class teachers and friends at the end of Term 2, and will not be returning back for the third term to school. I am excited to see them explore their academic journey in the UK now In sha Allah.
- Another month filled with endless number of Mother’s Day. Can I still celebrate UAE Mother’s Day when I’m in the UK? haha! Here’s a fitting reel I made in celebration.
- Experiencing an Iftar preview at Yalumba. Boy am I going to miss Dubai Iftars! No-one does it quite like Dubai!
- Ramadan Mubarak! We will be spending half of our Ramadan here in Dubai and the other half in the UK In sha Allah.
- Selling my car. I’m going to miss my Zippy!
- Bidding goodbye to our apartment of last 3 years and checking into a hotel in Deira for the last 2 weeks of our remaining time in Dubai as we close off all our accounts and finish the final paperwork, which has taken slightly longer than anticipated.
- Keeping the boys entertained by going to the nearby mall, travelling through Metro rides and Iftar adventures. It’s definitely the most unique and challenging start to Ramadan we have ever had, as we live out of suitcases and are in a limbo state before flying out, but we are together in good health and that’s all that matters Alhumdulillah.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for in January here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in March last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
