Things I said Alhumdulillah for in June…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in June:
- I didn’t get a chance to write a gratitude blog post last month in May, but we celebrated Master Z turning 9 years old and as always I wrote him an open annual letter on his birthday which you can read here. Still can’t believe that it was his last single digit birthday.
- Spending time with family, doing all of life’s mundane things as we were but this time with Master Z and Little Z having their grandparents around them to spoil them. Here’s a little reel I made that seemed to resonate with alot of you.
- Registering the boys at the local dentist and going for their first dental check ups in the UK.
- We headed to London on a day trip to do a little sight seeing with the boys. We managed over 16,000 steps and had a great day out, despite the sweltering heat.
- Getting caught in a thunderstorm on a scorching hot day. We got absolutely drenched whilst running back from the local park back to our home but it was an experience I will probably never forget. Also, I am not even going to attempt to make sense of the British weather.
- Visiting the Abbey Pumping Station with the kids. The boys are loving getting to visit all the museums and learn more about the history here.
- First BBQ of the summer, eventhough it actually did drizzle a little whilst we were BBQ-ing the food!
- Thankful for the AC units my parents installed in their home because even though summer temperatures are nowhere near what we had in Dubai, buildings here trap heat and with the lack of ACs around, it can be rather uncomfortable (as you can see in this reel, haha!)!
- Making Eid biscuits with Mum in preperation for Eid al Adha.
- Celebrating Eid with the extended family at my parent’s home with a big feast for lunch, lots of Eidi for the kids, laughter and love.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in June last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
