Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July 2018…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in July:
- The biggest and best thing to happen this month has been the launch of “Mummy On My Mind Store”. After finally plucking up the courage to do so, I have indeed opened an e-shop on Little Majlis, offering a bespoke service of custom portrait doodles; lovingly designed and individually hand painted. The response has been amazing and I am so excited to begin this creative journey whilst spreading the joy doodling brings to me.
- Spontaneous lunch with friends, and getting to know them better.
- Creating artwork with Master Z. I really enjoy doing crafts with him, and can’t wait to do it with Little Z too.
- Watching the World Cup Final with the family and friends. Also, great when Little Z decides to snooze pretty much the entire time! Hooray!
- Hearing Master Z speak Gujrati, our mother tongue, so beautifully. His vocabulary has really grown, and I hope he always feels comfortable to speak in his mother tongue just as fluently as he does now. (It sure will help when it comes to communicating with my grandparents!)
- Little Z recovering ever so fast from his 6 month vaccine, with just a little cry after the pinch and a day of mild temperature. Phew.
- Exploring the new attraction in Dubai called Dig It, which was literally heaven on earth for Master Z.
- Having the privilege of a car with an AC during a sandstorm. I can’t imagine having to walk to my destination in this heat and unforgiving weather.
- Exploring the rainforest wildlife at Green Planet Dubai. I also really enjoyed vlogging it and reviving my Youtube channel.
- Hearing Little Z say “Mama”. Alhumdulillah. That boy has my heart in the palm of his hands.
- Watching photos and videos of my family travelling through Europe, and seeing my niece bond with my parents and baby brother.
- Getting a new pair of glasses, since I eventually got round to getting my eyes checked after over a year, with a minute increase in my prescription in one of my eyes.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in July last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!
