Things I said Alhumdulillah for in January…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in January:
- Celebrating Little Z turning 3 years old. I have written the usual annual birthday letter you can read here. We had a small cake cutting session out in our balcony, complete with a Grizzy & the Lemmings themed birthday cake.
- Getting vaccinated both 1st dose (5th Jan) and second dose (26th Jan). I am very thankful to be living in a country where it’s so easily available to everyone. I have shared our entire experience on this instagram post.
- Happy 6th Birthday to this blog! 6 years ago on the 21st of January is when I published my very first post, and I have really enjoyed adding to it over the years, celebrating parenting milestones as well as those of my children.
- Weekends at home. With covid cases on the rise again, we decided to cancel many plans and chill out at home instead, playing Chess with Master Z, watching movies on Netflix and eating home made food. And you know what, it’s been thoroughly lovely.
- Visiting the Kabrastan (graveyard). Always a humbling experience and a good chance to speak to my boys about deathm our souls and Jannah.
- Publishing the video of our trip to Dubai Desert Safari during the winter break. You can watch it here.
- Master Z learning another surah this month. I am so proud of himself.
- Organising my spice cupboard..it’s the little things! hehe! I used the Pantry Label stickers from StuckOnYou.ae and made a pretty cool video, if I do say so myself! haha! Don’t forget to use the code Zeyna10 to get 10% off!
- Going through old photo albums with my boys. Little Z loved spotting himself, and I only made sure to show the ones with him to avoid any tears!
- Water play for the boys…which also means our balcony is washed in the process. hehe! #WinWin for all!
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in January last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
