Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April:
- Moving into our new home Alhumdulillah! Hopefully this is our last move for a while now, after having gone through the process of packing and unpacking 5 times in the space of one year! I can’t wait to start creating beautiful memories in our home with my family.
- Getting lots of DIY done and furniture fixing with my boys. Master Z is quite the pro at this, making the tasks ten times easier and less time consuming when I know I can rely on him.
- Marking ONE year since moving to the UK from Dubai. It’s crazy what we have accomplished and gone through in just one year when I look back…onwards and upwards from here!
- Welcoming back home my parents and baby brother from their Umrah trip.
- Baking sweets and treats for Eid in my new kitchen! I went overboard and made lots of lovely things and even though the cookies didn’t turn out great, everything tasted delicious!
- Celebrating Eid with the family, where my boys were spoilt rotten with lots of Eidi from the extended family. Lots of food and sweets were also consumed. May Allah bless us with he opportunity to witness and observe another Ramadan next year In sha Allah.
- The boys starting their new school in our local neighbourhood and thoroughly enjoying it. Hopefully it will be the last school move for them for a while too, but it’s great to see how quickly they have made friends and settled in.
- Day trip to London with the family for lots of sight seeing and touristic photo taking! The weather was just perfect too…is Spring finally here?
- Hearing bird song and admiring the blossoming blue bells during school drop offs.
- Hosting a House Warming party for our nearest and dearest with a delicious spread of Gujarati Thaali for lunch. Yum Yum!
- Solo sushi date with myself in town, treating myself after my dentist appointment!
- Master Z getting a bigger bicycle, ready for long walks in the summer, whilst Little Z got a pair of bike training wheels attached to his so he can start learning to ride a bike too.
- Landing a full time job after a couple of interviews and starting at my new work place next month In sha Allah. There’s a lot of mixed emotions that I am still processing with that one, but Alhumdulillah for the opportunity as well as for the support from Mr Z.
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in April last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below.
