Alhumdulillah Series

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April…

Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulilah during the past month.

Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April:

  1. Enjoying the last of the end of term holidays with lie ins and no worries about logging in and completing school tasks! When are the next holidays rolling around?
  2. Visiting the Cat Cafe. The boys had such a great time, patting the cats, and it was quite a therapeutic experience for myself and Mr Z too! I would highly recommend a visit to this place with kids!
  3. Filming myself in a double role for a Johnsons Baby Arabia video. Watch it here and let me know what you think. It’s the first time I have done this kind of editing, and I am so proud of the outcome! (P.S. Don’t forget to use zeyna20 to get 20% off when purchasing Johnsons Baby products from noon.com)
  4. The start of Ramadan 2021 on 13th April, Alhumdulillah. So grateful to have been given the opportunity to experience yet another Ramadan. Here’s a look at my annual Ramadan Mubarak doodle!
  5. I have been quite enjoying trying out new recipes and sharing a couple on my Instagram as well as stories. I made Idli Sambhar for the first time, as well as Khaman in the Nutricook, along with some pastry parcels for Iftar using my mum’s recipe and ofcourse my annual Ramadan Energy Date Balls! I also made some Dates with Cream in collab with Koita and Chocolate Brownie Sundae with St.Michel. Can you tell food is on my mind?! 😛
  6. Iftars with family at home. I have been really enjoying just taking it slow and easy, much like the last Ramadan when covid hit us initially.
  7. Reading stories of the prophets to my boys. Master Z, now that he is 6, is really excited to know more and soak up all the new knowledge he receives. He is also doing a great job at memorising Surahs. He is also attempting to fast between lunch and Iftar a couple of times, which I have been encouraging, and he absolutely loves to open the Ramadan Countdown Calendar every morning. It has become our little family tradition and I love it.
  8. Being featured in Gulf News as I share my thoughts on spending a second Ramdan during the pandemic.
  9. Watching Little Z colour, it’s one of his favourite things along with puzzles. The joy he gets from it is so heart warming.
  10. Gift wrapping Master Z’s birthday gifts. He turns 7 next month, can you believe it?! I am trying to be as prepared and organised as possible as his birthday is most likely the day before Eid, so it’s going to be a hectic couple of days!
