Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April 2017…
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and this post is a collection of moments when I have said Alhumdulillah during the past month.
Things I said Alhumdulillah for in April:
- Having one my best friends get married earlier this month, and thought I couldn’t make it to her wedding in India, I am so happy that she has relocated to the UAE! Endless girly gossip can commence once more. *Yay* Now to just fix up weddings for my remaining besties with Emirati blokes…
- Having the chance to create my very own painting in the depths of the Atlantis Lost Chambers Aquarium, as I watched sea life swim by. The Art and Grape Under The Sea Art Class is truly an unforgettable experience.
- Alhumdulillah for feeling like we are “settled”, even as expats. This month I have heard many stories of those I know of that are struggling, with circumstances, with expat life. May God bless them with stability and success very soon.
- Watching the sun set behind the idyllic Dubai skyline.
- Tickle Fights. If you can’t beat ’em, Join ’em!
- Enjoying a family day splashing away in Splash N Party, geared up in COÉGA Sunwear.
- Being part of the Starbucks media campaign for their new drink “Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew”. Watch the video here. Have you tried it yet?
- Finally getting my first pair of Shoeqs, and then consecutively buying another two matching pairs – One for me and another for my son! Ha! It’s been a long time coming!
- Hearing positive feedback. Especially when you are not having a particularly great day, and these positive words can ensure you sleep with a smile on your face. Never underestimate the power of your tongue…
- Discovering and working with a fab children’s (and mum’s) pre-loved clothing company offering guilt-free designer shopping at jaw-dropping prices: Kids Style for Less! Read more about it here.
- Meeting new born babies! Don’t they just make you melt on the spot?
- Creating my own canvas of the top five things I am grateful for, in collaboration with Pretty Paper Studio. See it here.
- Knowing we are less than a month away from Ramadan!
These are just a few of the many times I uttered the words Alhumdulillah this month. Check out what I was thankful for last month here. Also, here’s a list of what I was thankful for in April last year! What are you thankful for? Feel free to share your moments in the comments section below!

I’m reading your post as early as 9 am and this made me smile. Our life has been in fast paced that we often forget to be thankful and it never comes to me to share the things that make my entire month positive. I will surely try to do a similar one from now on. 😊
Thank you Karen! It really is grounding to think of the beautiful things around us from time to time that we have been blessed with.
Awesome! I’ve been thanking that me and my awesome bf are still together and keeping stronger in our relationship. Also for giving me the signs that I should pursue blogging as my passion career. Help my cousin get a job, and also my bf. And more support on my blog! 😀
Love the concept of this post! In our fast paced lives we forget to be thankful ,this was such a beautiful little example of otherwise . A positive read!
