Gratitude Project by Mummy On My Mind
So here it is! My Gratitude Project for the Pretty Paper Studio Blog Hop. The theme given: Gratitude, was very apt since I monthly brainstorm a list of things I am grateful for on my blog, titled “Things I said Alhumdulillah for”, and I truly believe that being grateful is the key to happiness.
Alhumdulillah means “All Praise is due to God” and are the words uttered by a Muslim when he/she is expressing gratitude to Allah. I find myself saying this numerous times a day and so for this project, I decided to state Five things that I am grateful for, which is rather difficult to pinpoint!(Try it yourself.) Also, I chose five rather than any other number since PPS is turning 5!
Covering the lid of a cardboard box with water colour paper, which I painted in hues of blue and green, whilst adding salt to enrich the texture, my base of this project was ready. I used the materials from the Pretty Paper Studio, including sequins, 3D Flowers, 3D Letter Stickers and coloured card. As soon as I saw the colours and the sequins, a peacock was formed in my mind (I think I even mentioned it on my InstaStories whilst unboxing the supplies!), and after drafting out ideas, I decided to have the five things I was grateful for as individual peacock feathers, whilst the peacock body would be created out of shimmering green and blue sequins.
Alhumdulillah For:
1. Family
Family is everything. I am thankful for my two boys , Mr Z and Master Z, every single day. Apart from these two special people, I am also very grateful for my extended family and their support.
2. Cuddles
Who doesn’t love them? Master Z’s cuddles especially are the softest and full of love. Even if I have to pry them out of him sometimes!
3. Knowledge
Knowledge is power. I am thankful for the knowledge that I have been given, through the education I have had, and I am always on the hunt for more. In my understanding, the more knowledge you have, the better informed you are to make wiser decisions, whether this knowledge is acquired through experiences or books.
4. Health
Without this, we would be paralysed indeed. I am thankful to wake up each morning with my health intact, especially knowing that many people are often not so fortunate and thus have many limitations in what they can do. Good health is truly such a huge blessing.
5. Faith
I am thankful for having the belief that I have in God. Faith will take you places, and we all know the wonders one can do if you simply believe in yourself. Believing that you can do better. Believing that you can accomplish your tasks. Believing that you will succeed.
So, there’s my interpretation of the Gratitude Project using the wonderful craft supplies from Pretty Paper Studio. Let me know what you think of it!
Here’s a little Process Video I made of creating the Gratitude Project…

never thought of using sequins, and look so fantastic and it’s a great inspiration and I can’t agree more that those are also the 5 things I’m thankful as well. And your project thought me that salt can entensify color aside from the other uses that I know. I’m grateful too to know your blog 😊😊😊
Thank you!
Happy 5th anniversary to PPS.
This is just WOW. Totally loved the idea. In fact I can easily say this is the best gratitude. The layout, color scheme, flowers and embellishments are love. Above all the key factors of Alhamdulilah. Keep inspiring us.
