Palmer’s Ultra Moisturising Lip Balms…
Temperatures have begun to rise, and it seems like Summer is just around the corner. Living in Dubai, this means protecting oneself from the blazing sun is even more crucial now than the rest of the year, and I have just the product to keep your lips feeling (and tasting) luscious!
Before I begin, I want to tell you that I am a HUGE lip balm girl. When I am at home, I make sure to lather lip balm on my lips throughout the day, and when I am out and about, I make sure to carry a little tin with me, because this latest trend of matte lips has my lips feeling so parched! I like to have lip balm on my lips at all times because for one reason only. I have the horrible habit of biting them as soon as they get dry. It’s an addiction that leaves my lips cracked, so Lip Balm is my go to method of prevention as well as solution.
Over the past week, I have been trying out Palmer’s Ultra Moisturising lip balms of three flavours: 1. Cocoa Butter , 2. Dark Chocolate and Mint, and 3. Dark Chocolate and Cherry.
The lip balms I have been previously using have all been in tin form, so I was happier to use lip balm sticks that are much more hygienic since I no longer need to be dipping my fingers into the balm for application. The lip balms are compact and slightly oval shaped, great to fit into your purse or back pocket whilst on the go. The biggest perk is of course that these Palmer’s lip balms come with the added benefit of SPF 15, as well as being enriched with Vitamin E.
The Palmer’s Lip Balms are the answer to my prayers because all three formulas help prevent and protect chapped, cracked or wind burned lips. The lip balm itself has a smooth application like melting butter on your lips.
Ingredients:
Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E are the two major ingredients with the following benefits.
Cocoa Butter: A rich, natural moisturiser that leaves skin soft and silky, transforming even the roughest, driest areas into buttery soft skin.
Vitamin E: A powerful antioxidant that helps reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks and imperfections on the skin, giving a more even and toned appearance.
Which of the 3 flavours is my pick?
Cocoa Butter, Dark Chocolate and Mint or Dark Chocolate and Cherry? Before even trying them out, I expected to love the Dark Chocolate and Cherry most because I love all things sweet (Give me dessert any time of day!). After testing it out, it is indeed sweet smelling and tasting, and I love the fact that it leaves a pink tint on your lips, giving this lip balm dual use as both a lip balm and a lip tint.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to equally enjoy the Dark Chocolate and Mint, which left my lips zingy and fresh, rejuvenated even. I tended to pick this one up right after my morning bath, to kick start the day with confidence and zest.
I am dissapointed that neither of the two Dark Chocolate lip balms had a strong chocolate flavour, it was more the overpowering of cherry and mint, which I didn’t mind, but being a chocoholic, I would have liked the idea of a stronger chocolate lip balm.
The Cocoa Butter was in fact my go to lip balm just before bed. I think I always reached out for this one because it complimented the other Palmer’s skincare products I use before bed, in terms of smell.
I normally have a clear winner, but with these three I can’t say that there is one. I prefer each one during different times of the day depending on my mood or how I want to feel, so I think choosing one of the Palmer’s lip balm is a unique and personal experience.
