Life Casting by First Impression Artwork – Review…
What if I told you that you could stop time? That you could pause a precious moment in life? That you had the power to capture that which would never return? With First Impression Artwork you can. I am talking of life castings of your children, whether it is their hands or feet, frozen in time and treasured forever.
First Impression Artwork very kindly gave me the opportunity to do just that, and it was the perfect way to capture the brotherly bond of my two sons: Master Z & Little Z.
After agreeing details over the phone on how I wanted the castings to be, the First Impression Artwork team arrived to the comfort of my home for convenience. Having done a hand casting of Master Z when he was a year and a half, I was already aware of the process. Both the ladies first created the mixture by which the moulds of Master Z and Little Z’s hands would be taken.
I opted for Little Z to go first, so that Master Z could observe and know what to do when it came to his turn. Little Z’s hand was dunked into the bright lilac mixture as I held him upright for the total of only a minute or two. Once the mixture had hardened, Little Z’s hand was easily removed and cleaned up on any residue.
Next up was Master Z, and it was more of a challenge to keep him still, even if it was for the total duration of one minute! We all know what toddlers are like – always on energy level 100! The team of First Impression Artwork however did a great job of talking to him to keep him distracted and then counting down to when he could remove his hand.
Once both the hand moulds were taken, I chose the materials of the frame as well as the finish of the hand casts (I chose silver) from the wide options they offer. I was also asked to send them a photo of my choice to accompany the hand casts and voila, we were done! All in all, it took so little time because the process is so quick and the team were incredibly efficient, friendly and professional.
Approximately two weeks later, the frame was delivered to my home, and I was in awe of the details captured. The frame itself has two windows, the right side contains a photo of Master Z kissing the head of Little Z and the left side contains the hand casts. The hand casts are accompanied with name plaques including their dates of birth and age when the hand cast was taken.
I am incredibly happy with the result and I can’t wait to hang up the frame on my wall (once my DIY Husband gets round to it!). It will no doubt adorn all our home walls from now till forever, as we admiringly look back at this precious milestone in our lives. What a perfect way to celebrate becoming a family of four! I am sure I will look back at this frame and wonder how my boys could have been so tiny!
If you are looking to capture such precious milestones and moments in your lives, I would highly recommend that you check out what First Impression Artwork have to offer. Not only do they do life castings, they also offer gorgeous newborn photography and keep-sake jewellery. There is no need for me add more words about their quality of work because it speaks for itself.
