Family Fun at Flip Out Dubai – Review…

Last weekend, myself and the boys visited Dubai’s largest indoor trampoline park – Flip Out Dubai, and it was much more than what we had anticipated. A trampoline park? Surely, it’s just a place with plenty of trampolines to jump on right? Yes, but it is so much more than that too!

Tucked away in the depths of Al Quoz, Dubai, the Flip Out space is enormous. Once we registered through the provided computers, agreeing to the Waiver forms, we were told to enter at a specific time and get ready. Master Z was given a pair of grip socks, but you can also use the trampolines whilst wearing your shoes/trainers or go barefoot, as long as there is no danger of slipping. As much as I would have loved to join Master Z and Mr Z, I of course would not be able to do any trampolining or some very good news would have to be shared as I flipped on account of me being 25 weeks pregnant! ha!

We first headed to the Main Arena, a vast space with numerous trampolines all over and even edging on the side walls. There were also soft foam boxes to jump off, which reminded me of Gym classes during primary school! If only gym classes were this fun!

Master Z began flipping and jumping right away, running the entire length of the arena, and jumping off the foam boxes. I think it was his idea of Heaven to be honest. There were no rules, no Mummy telling him not to jump off things, and best of all, I was secure in the knowledge that it was a completely safe environment for him to go completely GAGA in! The wide grin on his face said it all, as well as the fact that I do not have a single photo of him standing completely still during the entire time we were at Flip Out!

Mr Z joined in on the monkey business too, whilst a member of staff attempted to teach him how to do some kind of intricate bounce. Unfortunately, the husband did not succeed in nailing the bounce, but it sure had him laughing and jumping.

After plenty of bouncing in the Main Arena, we explored the sports areas including DodgeBall and Volleyball court, Football Zone and Basketball Slam Dunks Zone. Different sports balls for each zone were provided, and I could see people of all ages having such a great time. There was no limit to the kind of games you could play, given the freedom and zest of the staff dotted around the entire trampoline park.

There are also a few smaller trampoline boxes (with quirky background wall art) for individuals to experiment their different techniques or simply jump to their heart’s content.

The highlight of the entire trampoline park is in fact the Massive Foam Pit. You can either enter through the Half Pipe Trampoline on the right side, or simply jump into it through the more classic trampoline section, again manned by staff at all times to ensure safety.

The Foam Pit is quite a popular area for all, and the soft fall means that you can do some insane run ups to jump in. Let’s just say there is a hoard of slo-mo videos stored on my iPhone of Master Z and Mr Z jumping into the Foam Pit. However, getting OUT of the Foam Pit is a mission in itself, as you can see from the photo above, Mr Z had to drag the little one out countless times.

Overall Experience:

Our overall experience was indeed a great one. Mr Z worked up quite a sweat by the end, and Master Z hasn’t stopped talking about his experience to everyone he meets since. It is a great space to let off steam for adults and wear out children before bed. Master Z had also worked up quite the appetite after all that jumping, so what more could a Parent possibly ask for? If you haven’t been yet, I would definitely urge you to visit with your little ones for a fun filled weekend family activity.

Ideally, I think coming here with a larger group of people would make the experience more enjoyable, but the entire park is very family friendly, especially thanks to the encouraging staff members, ensuring safety protocols are met at all times without sacrificing on the fun. Coloured wristbands are given, along with timely announcements to let you know when your one hour is up.

The decor is a little bare, with mainly graffiti covered walls, but I suppose this makes the raw looking trampoline park better for wear as time goes on. Flip Out Dubai may not be picture perfect, for the Instagrammer in me, but it does give endless amount of joy to whoever walks in, regardless of age and skill level.

Flip Out Dubai also provides Archery Tag, located on a lower level, which I am sure the older kids and adults would enjoy thoroughly. There is also a small cafe upstairs overlooking the Foam Pit, accompanied by (paid for) lockers and (free to use) storage boxes for you to store your shoes and other items in. Toilets, along with showers, are also provided.

Prices:

1st hour General Admission: AED 80

For kids aged 5 or under: AED 70

Flip Out and Archery Combined (2 hours): AED 130

Party Packages:

On the lower level, there are also numerous individual Party Rooms for Birthday Parties and gatherings. Party Packages include a dedicated Party Host, reserved area for parents and unlimited water, juice and pizza, amongst other things. Prices start from AED 135 on weekdays, and AED 150 on weekends for a 1 hour 45 minutes session.
