Dinner at Texas Roadhouse, La Mer – Review…
Did you know Texas Roadhouse has opened their newest branch at La Mer in Dubai? They were kind enough to invite us for dinner to check it out, and as frequent visitors to Texas Roadhouse, I was very much excited.
For those of you that are unaware, Texas Roadhouse is a steak restaurant serving American cuisine, perfect for casual dining.
With the beach right on the doorstep, and chilled ambiance of the restaurant, complete with quirky saddles, neon lights and western themed artwork, it was very welcoming. We decided to dine outside, whilst the Dubai winter breeze was still present, and were greeted by very friendly staff.
Before ordering, as is customary in every Texas Roadhouse there is, we were given two buckets, one filled to the brim with Peanuts and the other empty to dispose of the shells. Along with this, we were given a tray of freshly baked buns with cinnamon butter. Let me just tell you like it is, I go to Texas Roadhouse for their buns. Those hot chunks of bread are insanely delicious and if society allowed me, that is all I would dine on. The peanuts and buns are complimentary and for Master Z, the best bit about dining at Texas Roadhouse, especially now that he has learnt to crack open the peanut shells himself.
Starters
After flicking through the Menu, and not trying to pick our usual favourites, we opted for the Grilled Shrimp Caesar Salad (AED 71.40) and the Boneless Buffalo Wings (AED 44.10) that come with Blue Cheese dressing and celery sticks for dipping. The prawns were just the right amount of crunchy and Master Z absolutely loved the salad. (He has an obsession with Salad Leaves!) We asked for the hot sauce to be served separately to the wings so that Master Z could eat them without complaining about them being too spicy.
Mains
For the mains, Mr Z picked the Texas Roadhouse pride and joy – Ribeye Steak Combo, with Beef Rib (AED 147), whilst I opted for the Mushroom Jack Chicken (AED 52.50). Each main comes with a choice of two sides, so we went for Seasoned Rice, Vegetables, Buttered Corn and Coleslaw. Texas Roadhouse is known for their hand cut steak and off the bones Rib, and rightly so. The beef and rib were so tender, and the honey sauce extremely sweet. The grilled chicken breast was topped with cheese and sauteed mushrooms, and was deliciously indulgent. All dishes are well portioned, if not on the larger side.
Texas Roadhouse also offers a Kid’s menu including dishes such as Mac n Cheese, CheeseBurger Sliders and Sirloin Steak Bites. They have a good selection of mocktails as well as a handful of decadent desserts. All in all, it makes for a great dinner if you are looking to spoil yourself with delicious taste.
Over all, we had a really great experience at the new Texas Roadhouse, which is why we are regulars of this restaurant, whether it is a special occasion or not. The service we receive and have always received has been prompt and friendly. The food is without a doubt worth every penny/fil and with the new location, it is the perfect post-swim or post-beach-stroll treat for the whole family.
Have you ever been to Texas Roadhouse? What has your experience been like? Have you visited the new branch at La Mer? What’s your favourite dish from the menu? Let me know!
