On Monday evening, I took part in an unforgettable experience: Dubai’s first underwater Art Class, deep inside The Lost Chambers Aquarium and surrounded by the most magnificent creatures of the underwater world. It was such a magical and tranquil experience that I simply must share with you all, in case any of you would like to experience the same, so here are all the details as well as images from my experience.

The “Art & Grape Under The Sea Art Class” invites guests to learn how to paint with watercolors under the tutorage of an expert, whilst enjoying unlimited grape and canapés. Open to all levels, from beginner to advanced, ‘Art and Grape Under the Sea’ is a two-hour workshop led by Dubai artist, Lillian Mackey who will guide guests on their creative journey, each leaving with a masterpiece ready to take pride of place on their wall.

Taking place one Monday every month, ‘Art and Grape Under the Sea’ will commence on Monday 17 th April followed by events on the following dates: Monday 22 nd May, Monday 3 rd July, Monday 4 th September and Monday 11 th December.

The two-hour event from 8.30pm-10.30pm costs AED 395 and includes entry into The Lost Chambers Aquarium, expert tutorial, unlimited grape and canapés as well as the chance to take your masterpiece home. All equipment will be supplied.

Of course, I personally avoided the grapes, and it was a rather late art class in terms of timing, but being a creative person and having the chance to paint in the midst of the underwater creatures is parallel to none, and memorable beyond words. The images in this post do not do it justice at all. As you are lost in all the colours and brush strokes, you can’t help but feel incredibly relaxed and I would highly recommend this experience.
